Have you ever lost something very very important and later on found it? Do you remember that feeling? Recently, I lost my wedding ring. Yes, my WEDDING RING was lost inside summer conference on Sunday 9/2. I think I lost it in the basketball court, so I searched the entire court "carpet style" many times but was unsuccessful. I was very disappointed and lost all hope in finding the ring because the conference is coming to an end. I prayed to God for help, but still did not find it. After the conference, Francesca and I had a fight about my lost ring along with my other "minor imperfections". Losing the ring makes me realize what the ring symbolizes and what I still have. The ring symbolizes our union together and without it we still have union. The ring symbolizes our love together and without it we still have love. The ring symbolizes our commitment together and without it we are still committed to each other. Of course, Francesca did not buy into my logical thinking. As I calm down the next day, I began to think where I am going to buy the new ring and should I improve it like inscribing the wedding date and stuffs. But God has his own plans. Francesca found the ring as she was doing the laundry on Thursday 9/6. We were very thankful and happy and gave thanks to God. The joy is indescribable. There's no way the ring could have fall into the dirty clothes during conference and remain there until we take them out to wash. I believe that God use his hands to pick up the ring from the basketball court and travel 100 somewhat miles to drop it off into my laundry basket. No matter how the ring was found, if it wasn't for God, it will not be found. |
